Heartburn

Q.I am 37 weeks pregnant. the doctor has prescribed zantec for my heartburn and I also add mayloxx before bed. I still get heart burn!!! anything else safe to take during pregnancy? i gave up on tums and rolaids long ago!Can anyone in the group help me please?

A.Milk will sometimes help. But at this point there really is not much you can do. They baby is squishing almost everything. So until you deliver you could also try sleeping in a semi up right position. zantac is not really safe, it's a category C medication. I had to take during my first pregnancy but if I was told to take it now I wouldn't. I just take tums now, but I've been ok with the heartburn. Are you watching what you eat? had it with all three of my kids.. Don't eat spicy things. Drink alot of milk and put 2 pieces of wood under your bed to raise is about 2 inches just at the head board.. And you get results and a good night sleep. Hang in there. It will all be worth it.
