Home Cure For Acid Reflux

Q.I have some questions here for you 1)If you take lithium, DO NOT take St. John's wort. 2)Does anyone know of possible interactions between Neurotin and St.John's Wort? 3) I am trying a Home Remedy right this minute for Acid Reflux. I am astounded that it is actually working. Why didn't I hear about this before? All it is.....is much sugar dissolved in a very small amount of water. You just "sip it". I was very skeptical of this until a half hour ago. Prilosec didn't work, Tums were too weak, baking soda is too much sodium, not to mention the temporary effect. This sugar water seems to be working , and tastes a Hell of a lot better than baking soda. Can anyone in the group help me please?

A.The followings are quoted from a medical book ANTIDEPRESSANTS: Avoid concomitant use with St. John's wort due to the potential to increase therapeutic and adverse effects (4,12,16). BARBITURATES: Theoretically, St. John's wort can decrease the drug-induced sleep time of barbiturates (758). DIGOXIN (Lanoxin): Caution, concomitant use might reduce the therapeutic effects of digoxin requiring dosing adjustment. St. John's wort extract (LI160) reduces serum digoxin levels in healthy people (382). NARCOTICS: Theoretically, St. John's wort can increase the drug-induced sleep time of these drugs (758). RESERPINE: Theoretically, St. John's wort can antagonize the effects of reserpine (758). SELECTIVE SEROTONIN REUPTAKE INHIBITORS (SSRIs): Concomitant use of St. John's wort is contraindicated because it can increase the risk of serotonin syndrome (542,166). There is one case report of nausea, weakness, fatigue, lethargy, inability to arise from bed, and incoherence with the combined use of St. John's wort and paroxetine (Paxil) (542). PHOTOSENSITIZING DRUGS: Theoretically, concomitant use can result in increased photosensitivity (166).
