Q.i've been getting hickups quite often lately and i thought nothing of it because i have acid reflux problems (the two are kinda related) but i noticed now that any kind of need to use muscles causes them too and they are getting so bad that it hurts and the attacks are lasting a very long time, so much so i'm worried i'll eventually be sick...... Does anyone have any problems with this and does anything help?

A.The two problems are indeed related. What you are experiencing is a Ph. imbalance in your blood chemistry. I used to suffer from the same problem. The problem is caused by not fully exhaling. From my perspective, this is associated with the asphyxia I experienced at birth. Here's a solution I have found to be quite useful: when you have an attack, a) exhale, b) try NOT to inhale as long as you can (don't worry, you have a minute's worth of oxygen in your blood when your lungs are completely depleted of O2), c) inhale as slowly as you can, d) continue breathing deeply and slowly in and out as evenly as you can, e) if the problem persists, repeat the entire process. For acid reflux, I eat 1000mgs. of calcium (chalk). .
