Infant Acid Reflux Natural

Q.My daughter was born 2lbs 1oz and is suffering from acid reflux.She does not get enough sleep and she seems to be in a lot of pain. She is 4mos old and now weighs a little over 6lbs. The doctor prescribed zantac and it dont seem to be doing her any justice. do anyone know of any safe natural remedies that i can use? Please help me b/c its killing me to see my little girl in so much pain and discomfort. Can anyone in the group help me please?

A.My daughter has silent reflux and we've had her on Prevacid solutabs since she was 7 wks old, she's now 21 wks old; and they've worked great for her. It did take about a full week or so to work but it has helped. I also tried gripe water because she also was very gassy and it did help calm her stomach. Some have even said they were able to give their child the gripe water and take them off the meds for reflux. The sleep issue may take awhile to get better though - my daughter is just now getting where she'll sleep straight 6 hours at night before waking to nurse. Keep her elevated after feedings for at least 20 minutes, my daughter does not sleep well in a crib so we've still got her in her Fisher Price Motion Soothing Glider and that's the only way I can get her to sleep. It keeps her elevated and moves and it seems to do better with her than the elevated crib mattress. I would definately talk with the pediatrician and let her know the meds are not working because it's so sad to see them in pain and when they're crying a lot and not sleeping a lot it can also take it's toll on you and hard to take care of such a little baby when you're tired constantly. Take care and hang in there, it does get better; sometimes it seems like it never will but it does. There are also some really good websites with information on reflux that may help.
