Acid Reflux Medicine?

Q.Acid Reflux Medicine? My doctor gave me Prevacid for acid reflux. It's been 3 days or so since I started and my symptoms are worse and more painful than ever. The information sheet that came with it said it might take up to 4 weeks to comtrol my symptoms. This really sucks because there are no over the counter meds that have worked for me either. Has anyone else taken Prevacid? How long does it take to start working?
