Natural Relief For Heartburn

Q.Has anyone experienced heartburn while doing taxol? I receive taxol weekly and seen to constantly feel like I'm swallowing air so it feels like I got an air bubble in my throat most of the time. My husband said it is heartburn, but I don't have the burning that usually comes with heartburn when I have it. Any suggestions on how to get rid of this? I tried: Mylanta gas, Gaviscon, Prilosec and pepto bismal...nothing seems to help.

A.I don't think you have heartburn, therefore, none of the normal heartburn remedies are having any effect. The chemo kills all the fast growing cells including those in the esophagus. They're shedding and in the process of regrowing. To me, if feels like I have a permanent lump in my throat. Sipping cold water or lemonade (cuts the chemo taste) seems to help.
