Over The Counter Heartburn Medication

Q.What over-the-counter medicine can I give my 2-year old for heartburn? I think she may have GERD. Her doctor appt. isn't for another couple of days. I just want something to ease her pain until then. (She's actually 2 1/2, and weighs about 25 lbs.) so can anyone in the group help me please?

A.Until you see the doctor, do not give her anything other than milk for the discomfort. If you are wrong about what is wrong with her, blindly medicating her could cause more harm than good. Make sure her head is propped up on a pillow when she is in bed. If it is heartburn, it is often worse when lying flat I have GERD. It freaking sucks..I have had it sense I was a little girl too..Milk worked when I was a kid..you can try pepto..or maybe even rolaid soft chews..The cherry flavored ones really are not that bad..I feel sorry for your little girl GERD is very painful expecially to a child because they have no idea what is making them hurt like that The best bet would be to call your doctor's office and speak to a registered nurse about suggestions. Or try calling a pharmacist and explain your situation, they can be very helpful in the interim too. .
