Pain From Heartburn

Q.Anyone have this kind of pain...Stomach burning and back pain? Heartburn? I am at 16weeks and I have had this stomach burning which aches in my back in the middle of my shoulder blades. Went to the hospital because I could not take the pain..they thought it was a pulmonary embolism..Thank god..it was not. The said my gall bladder was fine as well. My doc said it is probably heart burn. Has anyone experienced heart burn? I did not know it felt this painful. It wakes me in the middle of the night sometimes. I was told to take Tums or Mylanta..mint tea as well. Seems like pregnancy brings out all these ailments that I have never had before. so can anyone in the group help me please?

A.First, let me just say, you poor thing. I know the hell u r in! Try the different anti acid products your Dr. can give you a list of the OTC stuff that is safe for you to try. I had a bottle of Mylanta ( in diff flavors ) in the kitchen, bedroom, and in my purse! Drink up. I found the liquid works MUCH faster. also, try some plain ( no salt) soda crackers, apple juice, stay away from cran orange or grape juice as they are high in acid. As a matter of fact stay as far away from citrus as you can get! Herb tea is ok, but tea and coffee have HIGH acid content, hard to believe huh? Peaches are good, pears, but Lettuce is hard to digest, all leafy veggies are unless cooked like spinach. No tomatoes, sauce is OK but heres a trick to make it OK, use a 1/4 tspn ( scant) and put that much baking soda in a pot of spaghetti sauce, it neutralizes the acid! No I'm not kidding.Yes, I'm positive. Red meat can cause you a problem on a bad day, try to eat more turkey, Chicken ( not Fried) and fish. stay away from Taco bell, and low cal yogurt and ice cream are Heaven!
