Pregnancy Heartburn

Q.What all can you do for heartburn I know I can take tums and stuff but lastnight I got such bad heartburn like I do every night. So I ate a few tums and went to bed. It almost instantly came back. So I ate a few more. This has been going on since then. I'm 36 weeks pregnant and I know I don't have much longer but is there anything I can do at this point to make it just go away. I hardly slept lastnight and I'm hungry and when I eat it just makes it worse So can anyone in the group help me please?.

A.I know certain foods make heartburn worse. I had really bad heartburn with my first one... talk to your obgyn about that b.c i'm sure that there are medications that they can give you to control that. try a warm glass of milk! i got heartburn toward the end of my pregnancy and it would help! also ask your doctor if there is anything you can take for it congrats on the new addition! u might call ur doctor to make sure its okay, but my doctor told me to get some over the counter zantac. i took the lower dosage of zantac 75 and my heartburn literally disappeared. Smaller meals more often, don't eat anything for 3 hours before bed, prop something under the mattress to elevate your head (cinder blocks under feet of bed), and tums.
