Tea Heartburn

Q.I have recently begun drinking Arizona green tea on a daily basis (I had never drank green tea before). I've been drinking about a quart a day and since I started I have had really bad heartburn. I do not think it is related to the caffine content because I've alway been an avid coffee drinker. Was is green tea giving me heartburn? Can you drink too much green tea? What will happen if you do drink to much?

A.If I drink any tea (other than decaffeinated) it gives me heartburn but I can drink coffee all day long with no problem. Decaffeinated tea doesn't bother me so I attribute it to the caffeine. I think that it might actually be the caffeine because since its a stimulant its causing your heart and digestive system to speed up. i think you should eat something with the tea to avoid or lessen heartburn. Besides you should also try any tea without caffeine. That caffeine can't be good for your heartburn. that way, you can reap the benefits without the caffeine. Some herbal teas like chamomile also have a calming effect and come naturally decaffeinated. good luck on your heartbur
