Treatment For Acid RefluxQ.I started getting acupuncture 2 or 3 weeks ago. I've done a TON of research on it and am very impressed w/ the variety of health & wellness issue it can help. My main ones are insomnia, anxiety, depression, ADHD, asthma, acid reflux, and irritable bowel syndrome. None are severe (thankfully!) although some are more problematic than others. My question: within the last week, I've noticed my mood is lower than it normally is. It's not like I walk around crying, and I don't act bitchy. I just feel less happy than usual, a little bit "blue", and less motivated to do things It's not severe, but I can tell it's different than my usual way of feeling. My acupuncturist said stuff like this happens to some folks during their first few weeks of treatment, because changes are going on in the body that it's not used to, and sometimes that makes a person feel "unbalanced" (for lack of a better word). Anyone else notice changes like this upon starting acupuncture? If so, for how long? A.The number of treatments necessary depends on a whole host of factors relating to the specific individual. For example, the duration of the illness, general state of energy, constitution, life style, are all taken into consideration. Generally speaking the more acute the disease the sooner it will respond, although there are instances where acupuncture has brought quick ref to many chronic problems. The initial treatments will usually be twice a week and their frequency will be decreased as the person progresses, to once a week, twice a month etc, until there is only a need for an occasional preventative check-up. And you should also try to use the Chinese herbs Chinese people have been using natural herbs to treat a wide variety of diseases and conditions. These herbs are called Chinese herbal medicine, which are composed of roots, bark, flowers, seeds, fruits, leaves, and branches of plants. Chinese herb medicine is one of most important part of Traditional Chinese Medicine which also includes acupuncture, acupressure, cupping, qigong and Taichi. There are over 6000 different herbs that can be used for medical purposes, around 200 to 300 of them are commonly used.
