Vinegar And Heartburn

Q.I am 76, diagnosed with T2 about 5 weeks ago, taking Glucotrol 5XL. Blood sugar control not bad. I Have been told that a teaspoonful of vinegar, taken in 4oz. of water once a day is helpful. Having no idea am looking for advice So can anyone in the group help me please?

A.I'd venture a guess that vinegar is more effective at cleaning windows and fixing slow drains than at helping to lower blood sugar, Richard. I would think that about all it would achieve might be a case of dragon- sized heartburn taken that way. Even as a salad dressing, most people who discover balsamic vinegar switch to that rather than using the regular old standard type. Every so often I see some little booklet at the supermarket check-out, counter claiming that apple cider vinegar taken in a glass of water (with a dash of iodine!) has restorative powers, but I suspect that all that's restored is the author's bank account.
