Vinegar Heartburn

Q.Why does vinegar work? I have had a problem with heartburn after eating for months. I started sipping a glass of water with a tablespoon of apple cidar vinegar in it during dinner and now I don't get it anymore. Does anyone know why it works? It doesn't make sense to add more acid into my stomach. (at least I think vinegar is an acid) So can anyone help me with this problem please?.

A.The stomach reads that there is not enough acid and produces more. Taking a little vinegar tells the stomach that there is enough acid so it stops producing it. The extra acid produced by stomach is much harsher then a little vinegar. I took rolaids for years then tried that vinear cure and been acid (and rolaids) free for over a year. Vinegar has been used for many purposes for years. It's not only good for heartburn, but it's a great disinfectant too. The pioneers used vinegar on cuts and bruises. Remember the nursery rhyme Jack and Jill ? It ends " he went to bed and mend his head with vinegar and brown paper ".
