Wedge Pillow For Acid Reflux

Q.My stepdaughter just went to her allergist because she's been having to use her inhaler a lot lately. He told her the problem wasn't her lungs, but rather that her rib cage and sternum are inflammed. Then he told her it might be from acid indigestion. Does that make sense to anyone? Of course acid indigestion can cause chest pain, but I'm skeptical about it causing the inflammed ribs/sternum. Wouldn't the trouble be in the stomach and/or esophagus? He gave her Prevacid and Vioxx so at least she's on an NSAID along with an acid reducer. I mentioned costochondritis and suggested she google it. So can anyone tell me if this is the wedge pillow for acid reflux?

A.As you say that your have been taking Prednisone at 20mg a day. I do not think you can take anything that would be harder on acid reflux than that. I was told that by a doctor who was going to do a scope on me to see how bad my acid reflux was. You have rib pain and have had for a long time from coughing,,, so do I. In my world that is not fibro. It is cause and effect from the cough and acid reflux. Do you have your bed elevated or do you sleep on a wedge pillow? Do you not lay down after eating for 2 hours and prednisone always with food? Maybe these things would help you.
